The month of December began in the outskirts of Okeechobee - in Basinger, at The Embassy. We've been singing for these folks for a long time. Actually, a LONG time! Pastor Bill and the good people at the Embassy have always treated us like family, and the first Sunday of December was no different. And of course, after the concert, we had a fellowship lunch with them. It's doubtful anyone will BBQ ribs any better!
We stayed close to home the second week of December, too. We were blessed to be with the Okeechobee Church of God. This is the church Trust Quartet calls 'Home.' Since these were the two December concerts before Christmas, we made sure to include a couple of Christmas songs. While this particular space is very rarely used to brag on anything Trust Quartet does in a service, perhaps on this rare, special type occasion, our readers will forgive ~ but tenor singer Woody Jackson sang O Holy Night for these two concerts. He was sick the first weekend and struggled a bit, BUT WOW ~ the second week, the old man (yes, he had just celebrated a birthday that week) brought the house down!
Trust took a couple of weeks off to celebrate Christmas (and in Steve's case, a daughter's wedding) with family. We were back for New Year's Eve weekend with a couple of concerts, though.
On Saturday night, December 30, we were honored to be with our friends Gulf State and Simple Faith Quartets in Zolfo Springs at the United Methodist Church there. It was a packed house and such a wonderful night of gospel music! On Sunday night, New Year's Eve, Trust was able to be with the good folks at Lorida Baptist Church. What an honor to close out 2017 with these friends. After the service, Pastor Goodwin noted that God did something 'special' that night. Following the concert, we had some refreshments and then those who were left sat in the back of the auditorium for a while and just sang. Some with tracks that Beverly played on the Trust sound system, and some just a capella. It was such a sweet time of worship with friends.
Trust Quartet put a wrap on 2017 and looked forward to 2018 and what God has in store for this ministry. We look forward to seeing God do amazing things, and looking forward to you being a part of it with us!
