The last day of July is a special day in the Beasley household. It was on that date in 1967 they said those all-important words to each other ~ I do.
The Beasley children, grand-children, great grandchildren, and Trust Quartet gathered in Buckhead Ridge recently for a special celebration to honor the 50th Anniversary of Buzz and Beverly Beasley.
We're grateful for their long testimony of God's grace, provision, and guidance these past 50 years. The celebration was golden, and Trust Quartet was honored to be among those present to pay tribute to this fine couple.
For several years, Trust Quartet, along with Gulf State Quartet and Simple Faith Quartet has promoted Popcorn Concerts. These concerts were named POPCORN concerts because the groups sing in a continuous rotation, where as one group finishes their song, the next group POPS out of their seats to sing the next song. It is literally wall-to-wall music ~ for a while!
One of the absolute best things about a Popcorn Concert is that, while there is a plan in place, there is no script. A popcorn concert is never, EVER, the same thing twice!
The next Popcorn Concert is scheduled for Saturday, September 16 at the First Free Will Baptist Church of Auburndale at 6:00 PM. The church is located at 3600 US Hwy 92 in Winter Haven, at the corner of Jersey Road and Hwy 92, across from Aaron's Furniture and near the Winter Haven airport. The concert is free, but a free will love offering will be received to help defray the group's expenses.
If you enjoy southern gospel music, this is an event you'll want to be sure to attend. These three groups genuinely love one another and it is obvious throughout the concert. Go ahead, circle the date on your calendar, and make plans to attend! You'll be glad you did!
As most of you are likely aware, Rhonda made the decision to step away from the quartet traveling schedule. She felt the need to spend more quality time with her family. While Trust Quartet and friends across Florida are saddened at her departure, it is understandable and we all wish her the very best.
The hand of God is definitely obvious. As Steve left in June 2016 to pursue other ministry opportunities, he was immediately approached about filling the pulpit at a church in Hollywood, FL on an interim basis while they searched for a pastor. The day the church voted to call a pastor, he got a text from Rhonda and a phone call from Buzz. Rhonda texted him to let him know she was stepping down, Buzz phoned him to ask him to consider returning to Trust Quartet.
The transition period began. A couple of rehearsals with Steve, and Rhonda concluded her journey with Trust at the church where Steve has been filling in the past 11 months. Steve's last Sunday at Calvary Fellowship Free Will Baptist Church in Hollywood was June 12 ~ his first concert with Trust was June 19.
